Here’s an interesting homegrown site embracing the collaborative web2.0 approach - The Health Connection www.healthconnection.co.nz is a niche directory aimed at the health sector and at first glance it’s just another directory but if you look closer there are some neat features.

It’s hard to define just what web2.0 actually is but I think it’s about open collaboration.

The Health Connection It’s a directory of health organisations and their key decision makers. So you can find a health care provider but you can also see which people are the key decision makers within. But the clever bit is that anyone can edit pretty much anythinig on the site.

Not only can you submit an organisation if it is missing, and submit key decision makers to it or indeed existing organisations, but you can also edit the details of any organisation or person in the directory.

The changes don’t go live immediately but that’s understandable.

Scoop go web2.0

Scoop have launched a very nifty and very web2.0 zeitgeist of their own. It’s a little bit digg and a little bit del.icio.us and I like it! Check it out at www.scoopit.co.nz

It’s great to have a NZ version of the social networking / tagging / bookmarking phenomenon and it’s a smart move by Scoop. Scoopit will no doubt drive traffic to scoop.co.nz and Google will eat it up. Indeed it seems there are a few people who have already identified this potential which begs the question - will quality or quantity prevail? On what basis are people voting for each item? It’ll be interesting to see how it pans out over time.

The little ScoopIT widget is an excellent touch. I’ve added mine already (-:
