Motorists face paying more for petrol through regional fuel taxes, levied to pay for local transport projects including the electrification of Auckland’s suburban trains.
For more roads? Are they insane? What about climate change? What about peak oil? I say whack another dollar on per litre and use it for upgrading the trains and busses – not for encouraging our crazy addiction to cars.
