UK mobile phone operator Orange will demonstrate a wind-powered mobile phone charger next week, as part of its sponsorship of the Glastonbury festival. The prototype weighing in at just 150g and can be mounted on a tent.

Awesome and very Eco friendly, You might be interested to hear of the The innovative (and controversial) UK wave hub being built on the Firth has been giving the go ahead - Energy that gets produced underwater and that can’t be seen to the naked eye must be hailed as a great achievement.As long is it does not have a negative impact in the local marine life the more of green and clean energy we can put into the Scottish Power grid is fantastic.

What a novel invention for camper and travelers!

Couple this with a solar backpack, solar shower, and solar cooker, and you could camp off the grid quite comfortably.

However, we still prefer solar powered chargers since they can be made from flexible thin-film solar which is easy to transport around.
